The Bachata Stars Contest is an annual competition that celebrates the art and passion of bachata dancing. Each year, dancers from around the Cyprus come together to compete, showcase their talents, and share their love for bachata.  The event also includes a vibrant party, making it a night full of dance, fun, and excitement.

There are two categories: Beginners/Improvers, where participants compete in a social dance format with a song they won’t know in advance, and Intermediate/Advanced, where participants perform a pre-choreographed routine to pre-selected songs. The Bachatero and Bachatera of the Year titles are awarded in the Intermediate/Advanced category, while winners in the Beginners/Improvers category also receive trophies.

Winners in the Intermediate/Advanced category receive the prestigious titles of Bachatero and Bachatera of the Year, along with trophies, certificates, and other exciting prizes. Winners in the Beginners/Improvers category also receive trophies and certificates.

Our panel of judges consists of renowned bachata dancers and instructors. Each judge brings years of experience and a keen eye for talent and technique. Details about the judges can be found on the Judges section of our website.

To register, please fill out the registration form available on our website under the Registration section. Ensure you complete all required fields and submit your registration before the deadline.

All participants must find a partner before registering for the contest. We recommend looking for partners at local dance studios, social media groups, and dance events.

For the Beginners/Improvers category, the song will be a surprise and revealed during the contest. For the Intermediate/Advanced category, the pre-selected songs will be provided to participants in advance to prepare their choreography.

The event includes both the contest and a party. The evening will start with a party, followed by the contest, and then continue with more dancing and celebrations. This ensures a lively atmosphere and a continuous flow of excitement.
